The inauguration ceremony was attended by a Member of the Republic’s Congress, the Administrative Vice Minister of Education, and the Minister of Sports and Recreation. In partnership with FIFA, the Costa Rican Football Federation, and local authorities, the project has brought to life a dedicated football space designed to serve young people and the wider community.

The new pitch features CCGrass’ LEAP non-infill football turf system, engineered to deliver a safe, durable, and environmentally responsible playing surface. Designed without rubber or sand infill, the LEAP system provides excellent surface stability, resilient support underfoot, and consistent ball performance. Its non-infill structure simplifies maintenance while helping reduce long-term environmental impact, making it particularly suitable for community-based football facilities where reliability and sustainability are key priorities.

As part of the global FIFA Arena initiative, this project supports FIFA’s mission to expand grassroots football by creating safe and accessible environments where children can learn, train, and grow through sport. The new facility in Costa Rica offers young players a dependable surface that encourages participation, builds confidence, and fosters a lasting passion for the game.
